Microsoft Security Essentials is now out and available as a full product (it has been in beta for some time but is now complete). The product provides a real-time protection solution for your PC that helps guard it against viruses, spyware and other malicious software. This is a FREE product for domestic use and can be obtained by searching the Microsoft website or searching google for “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Its available for Windows vista and Windows 7.

Security Essentials is a product that is from the Microsoft Malware Protection Centre. This is the core area of research from Microsoft that is dedicated to providing anti malware research and response capabilities for all aspects of Microsoft’s security products.

What does it look like? – Not too bad. It has a very subtle interface that fits in well with Windows Vista and Windows 7 and looks as if it was just meant to be there.
